Rep. Huelskamp Salutes Kansas Veterans
MANHATTAN, KS – Congressman Tim Huelskamp attended the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition Veterans Day celebration today to honor those who have sacrificed their own lives to protect American freedoms.
Representative Huelskamp issued the following statement:
"As a member of the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, I remain committed to making sure those who served our nation receive the best care and attention we can offer. We shouldn't just remember and honor our Veterans on this the 60th Veterans' Day, but each and every day.
These heroes deserve the promises made by a grateful nation. That's why I'm fighting to protect access to quality healthcare, job training, and so many other things important to caring for veterans. Dedicated groups like the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition are vital in providing services and support to our military men and women in the First District."
Veterans Day was started in Emporia, Kansas in 1953 as an expansion upon Armistice Day and was quickly extended throughout the Country to honor the service of all Veterans.
