ObamaCare Vs. Religious Liberty: Round Two

Nov 27, 2013
Press Release

WASHINGTON – The United States Supreme Court announced today it will review the HHS Mandate provisions within ObamaCare. Oral arguments are expected to take place in March 2014 with a ruling by late June.  Congressman Tim Huelskamp (KS-01) made the following statement:

“Nearly 17 months ago, I stood on the U.S. House floor and warned the Supreme Court that they would see a flood of lawsuits protesting the attacks on religious liberties by ObamaCare. Well that day has come. Today there are more than 80 lawsuits battling this egregious infringement of the First Amendment. It is my hope that the Supreme Court follows the Constitution and protects our God-given right of conscience. It is the very foundation of our nation — it is why so many fought and died for Liberty.”

Representative Huelskamp has remained a visible and vocal opponent to the religious restrictions imposed by the Affordable Care Act. He is an active member of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus. Congressman Huelskamp has shown support to several of the organizations involved in the lawsuits.
