Who Built It? Tony Did.

(HUTCHINSON, KAN.) - During the August 2012 work period Kansas First District Congressman Tim Huelskamp toured American Packaging in Hutchinson, Kansas. The company's owner, Tony Schleich, invited Congressman Huelskamp to tour his facility, and then he took a few minutes to talk with staff on camera about what his business faces when it comes to uncertainty from Washington.

In the first of the two videos, Schleich discusses his reaction to President Obama's "You Didn't Build That" comments made in Roanoke, Virginia earlier this summer. In the second video, Schleich discusses the impact on his business of Washington's uncertainty with taxes, regulation, and spending. Schleich explains how he has the resources to invest in more equipment and more employees, but that the uncertainty in the economy (created by Washington) has kept him on the sidelines.

"I am honored that Tony decided to share his story of how he and his father-in-law - not Barack Obama - built their business," Congressman Huelskamp said. "But, I wish he did not even have to share a story like this. Family enterprises like his are the backbone of our economy, but they are increasingly targeted by ambitious and zealous bureaucrats who want to regulate and tax them into oblivion."
